Kayah pepper, locally known as mat khar or mèhkàthì, is a distinctive aromatic spice from Kayah State, Myanmar. 

Harvested in the hilly areas around De Maw Soe and Pan Pet villages, it is essential for authentic Kayah sausage and local cuisine.

Produced by a small family business originally from Loikaw—now based in Mandalay due to the unstable situation—this pepper (also known as Sichuan pepper) is prized for its unique aroma and gently numbing flavor.
