Pass It On Project

The Third Story Project provides books about important topics in languages that local populations can understand. They are written and illustrated by Myanmar artists for Myanmar kids. A large selection of these books are on sale at Hla Day in both Burmese and English language.

Pass it on yourself

Why not purchase a book or two to distribute as you go along your journey in Myanmar? It is amazing to see how children value a book of their own, more so than candy or toys.  You will experience exactly how much they are appreciated and you will also be spreading a valuable message to communities.

Let us pass it on for you

If you have finished your Myanmar travels or will not be venturing out of Yangon you can still participate by purchasing a book at Hla Day and leaving it in our book bin.  We will ensure it is distributed to a child who will benefit. You can even write a personalised message in the book to the new recipient.

Pass on a library

With your support, we can provide a Library in a Box to those schools most in need. For 35,000 kyat, a community will receive a box full of 22 books, a teacher’s guide book and activity sheets like this one. Our books are in big demand throughout the country and we will make sure the books make it into little people’s hands.  Please write a message for the recipients so they know who supported their new tiny library and your best wishes for children to learn about important messages in a fun way.
