Ma Khin Aye is a skilled master sewer with years of experience who started her own sewing business ‘Hnin Zie’ a couple of years ago.
As her business has grown fast, she is now able to provide flexible employment to women living with HIV. Most of the women sew from home meaning they can look after their children and juggle other household chores.
With a fantastic eye for detail and design, she builds capacity in the women that she works with to provide high-quality workmanship. She has been collaborating with and receiving support from Hla Day through design and business training since 2016.
Ma Khin Aye first started her business with the objective of supporting her daughter through university. Now that her daughter has graduated, Ma Khin Aye continues her work, inspired by her passion for sewing and the women who work with her.
